As with any treatment received at Village Wellness, your first visit will consist of a detailed health history followed by a physical examination by either Dr. Mykietiuk or Dr. Wambolt, both of whom are fully trained and certified in low intensity laser therapy. Following your examination and subsequent diagnosis, we will determine whether you are a suitable candidate for laser therapy. A consent form will be provided, outlining any potential risks and side effects.
Depending on the body part that requires treatment, you will either lie down on a table or sit in a chair. Eye protection will be provided and is mandatory when receiving low intensity laser therapy. Failure to wear eye protection during treatment may result in permanent eye damage. Patients must also agree to never look directly into the laser beam or stare at their bright reflections, due to risk of permanent eye damage.
During treatment, the laser light source is placed directly on the skin and you should not feel any discomfort or pain from the application of the low intensity laser. The Bioflex laser system is non-toxic, non-traumatic, and non-invasive. Occasionally you may feel a warm sensation on the skin. You will be asked to notify us if this sensation becomes too intense, so the factors can be adjusted to your needs.
Treatment using the Bioflex Low Intensity Laser System is only administered by trained professionals certified by Meditech International Inc. If you have any questions about the use and operation of the system, please do not hesitate to ask. The comfort and safety of our patients is of the upmost importance to us.
